We keep finding more and more cheaply made cases. Most instances this other wood is okay but it is not as strong.
We only and will never use any other wood but Russian Birch please consider taking off a handle and checking your ply counts..
Russian Birch is 6 mm ≈ 1/4″ (5 plies) 9 mm ≈ 3/8″ (7 plies) 12 mm ≈ 1/2″ (9 plies) 18 mm ≈ 3/4″ (13 plies)
